Penn. Sen. Arlen Specter Leaves the Radical, Rightwing RNC
The radical, rightwing extremists have taken over the GOP and Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter is jumping ship-quickly.
On-air rightwing extremists including Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin are driving Republicans away from the party. Good job men!
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Veteran Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter said Tuesday that he switched from the Republican to the Democratic Party.
Sen. Arlen Specter was expected to face a tough re-election battle in 2010.
"I know I'm disappointing many of my colleagues," he said at a news conference. "The disappointment runs in both directions.
"I'm putting principle at the top of the list," he added.

As if the news couldnt get any worse....for the whiteysphere or the Republitards.
The Revenge of the Moderate Center has attained near unstoppable power.
Is there even a Republikkkan Party any longer?
Healthcare reform now seems a lock. Is there anything this president wants that wont be accomplished?
This president grows more powerful by the day. His first 100 daze have been as successful as his campaign, primarily because they have been an extension of the campaign.
The second 100 daze, when he will be battling congress for his programs like healthcare, just got a tad bit easier.....unless Lieberman returns the favor and jumps to the other side....which will only happen if Liebie plans on retiring after his current term. He is perfectly positioned in CT as an indie, in a state which has a plurality of indies.

I think folks are giving Arlen too much credit. This is just a cynical ploy to keep his seat. It's also another indication of how progressives, peaceniks, and intellectuals are not wanted at the political dinner table.
Harry Reid is a moderate Republican. *Josef Lieberman is a moderate Republican.
{* donkeytale sarcasm style spelling of Joseph. Jack's Smirking Revenge style to say I used donkeytale style. You have now entered the Blogosphere Twilight Zone. That's a take on a Rod Serling tv show. Keith Olbermann tries to steal from Edward R. Murrow, and both he and Mary Scotty O'Connor steal from the guy from Network and from the "Oh, I'm so mad and another thing" Mary Gross character from SNL News....}
Arlen Specter is a Democrat? We are looking at status quo politics with a healthy serving of stupid. This is PsyOps 101. There was the flying the planes low in Manhattan and the swine flu being labelled as a potential pandemic. This is all about suppressing democracy. It's all about ptb's objectifying the electorate. It's their way of telling we the people that they can and will do whatever they want to without any repercussions.
It seems like that flu can be treated. Maybe it is a way to make Mexico look bad? A lot of people die each year from airborne pollution particles, but we don't hear much about that.
There is no such thing as a moderate republican or democrat. This is about maintaining the status quo of inequality and war. How corrupt and stupid can we get? How gullible are you the reader?
Yes, donkeytale is correct. No one is holding Obama or any of their feet to the fire. In addition, the blogosphere is a joke, where all dissent has been banned from the major forums. Hey, there might be some dissent here and there, as in false vents.
Oh well, I am just that crazy conspiracy theorist. The internet is fresh and spontaneous. It is a community where no one is unfairly banned for being a peacenik, progressive, or intellectual. The moderating is so King Solomon like. [/sarcasm code]
Arlen Specter and Harry Reid? It's time to tell the truth. America is a country run by scumbags with blood all over their hands.
{off-topic: When are Americans with any power going to risk their positions for full disclosure and justice on EVERYTHING? White-outs should not be taking place in 20% humidity. The radiosonde readings the last two times I checked did not have anywhere near the amount of humidity necessary to even account for so-called persistent contrails. You really don't think there are psy-ops all over the internet and subsequently in real life? I've never been more ashamed of "Ugly Americans."}
So now we have a Moderate Republican President dressed up as a progressive Democrat. And ye all are slopping up this bull like the chumps who bought into Orwell's War of the Worlds. It's a new script but still scripted nonetheless.
GET OUT OF IRAQ NOW. REDUCE THE MILITARY BY 80%. BRING THE WAR CRIMINALS TO TRIAL.

I been working and lurkin, staying away from the whiteysphere and enjoying the vacation. like chatting with you and anyone else who showsup here fine. Pffugee Camp simply sems like the third demented variation of the original vision which has been hopelessly lost in peoples need to belong in a community, even one that doesnt exist. There is no end to the self degradation and humiliation people will endure, simply in order to maintain a sense of "community", regardless.
I dont see myslef as a blogspot style blogger. PFF was at its best when it had enough viewpoints, serious discourse, politics, and yes even recipe dairies to keep my own brand of BS proportional to the whole.
That is key, but impossible to find, hold and maintain in the soapblox structure. The structure is the problem, in any event. The structure, like at DKOS, hard coded social deviance and no matter what you do, who you apply to the mix, deviant behaviour by the so-called majority, which is actually the blog owners cronies and favored pets, typically a minority which confuses itself into believeing it is both morally superiour, and hence, therefore automatically the most representative opinion on the board.
These sites fail precisely because the magic, which is actually a result of random energy by many intelligent posters and luck, cannot be maintained. Blogging is existential that way.
O'Bama may be whatever you term him. I look at it differently. I view him in relation to Maccain/Palin/Bush/Cheney.
From that perspective he looks really good. Of course, the hard work of continuing to move the nation to the left will continue, but O'Bama plays a crucial, pivotal role in this process: obliterating the wingnut oppo on the right totally destroying vestiges of their former political power.
his would be impossible if he assulted from the pure, ideological left. Its impossible, politically speaking to even try to do something so nakedly, blatantly ideological today from either side.
The wright has destroyed itslef thru its ideology, just as the left did in the 1970s.
There are issues with reforming the military, health insurance, etc., any behemoth sector of our economy. These issues are practical not moral. That is, what happens when you disrupt such a large segment of the population, what happens to the people, and by extension, the middle class which these industries have defined and supported?
Abrupt change will not happen on Obama's watch, and thats good. The nation will creep leftward slightly, moreso if we have "Great Depression" Round 2 in the coming months or years, but dont expect to see any ideological agendas rammed through during the next eight years. All moves will be cautious, centered, balanced.
Finally, HOU polished off Portland, its first playoff series win in more than a decade. Battier and Artest continue to play like winners, and HOU held POR to 76 points. Good defense. LAL next series. Cant wait.
Game 7, BOS vs CHI!

Ok, how's this for an angle. Obama is the U.S. version of Gorbachev. He is trying to be a catalyst for fundamental change within a corrupt system. He believes he has to go slow and steady to ensure that American perestroika becomes reality. Or perhaps he is simply put, the much less evil of two choices.
We are definitely entering some form of post neo fill in the blank history. You seem to be arguing that things are so bad, we've been through so much hogwash, that if Obama went FDR or Mandela style, he might not win a second term.
I guess that's where the Antoinette's of the world come in to ensure that rightwing ideology never gets off the canvas from the anchor punch.
I don't see myself as a blogspotter either. I've always been a sociable type. I think you nailed what is wrong with the blogosphere. Those who are not banned are given two choices. Either comply and smile, or expect to be humiliated and forced into flamefests despite any aversion to that type of conversation.
I think we have proven that blogging can be interesting without the conflict. I think some people go nasty, because they are insecure with their own ideas and writing abilities.
There is no community. There are only moments in which random strangers like ourselves connect. It's more like pen pals in the open.
Peeder has shown up again. He has had nothing to say about the soapblox politics. I am smelling something rank lodged deep in the blogosphere fridge. But I can't put my finger on it. I can't prove it without any reasonable doubt. I can barely find venues to express myself. I do not want to be ridiculed. Or at a minimum, it would be nice if such humiliation could stay on topic. And if good points are made, let's not jump to the next humiliation. In short, I don't see honesty in the blogosphere. I truly appreciate your last post.
I have further proof that Democratic Underground is controlled opposition. When I get the chance, I'll write it up at my humble forum. The bad guys have won in silencing me, a nobody from Massachusetts. They have tied me in with convolution. They have forced me into my own free speech cage.
This is how they do it. They come up with usernames who "mirror" the few outspoken, who on a much smaller level are Mandelas; We are people willing to stand our ground rather than comply. Jack is meant to mirror myself as the angry lefty. Revisonist/Noom is also meant to mirror me, thus you have Jack saying I am Noom. Noom has been mirroring yourself, with the deliberate misspellings. We have both had our quirks magnified and fit into an image of plausible deniability for why we are unfairly treated, banned, and whatnot.
Hopefully, Antoinette will let us chug along. I feel I did do a good job recapping Dave's work and adding to it, especially in showing that Democratic Underground and DKos are more connected than one might have imagined possible. I believe both of us have proven that we are not who the troublemakers we are portrayed as being.

I like both statements. O'bama is something like Gorbachev in that he represents a return from ideological euphoria to the reality of the moment. And we are in a post fill in the blank moment. The quality of life will always and forevermore be like this, thanks to the info boob tubez we will always be following behind reality as it occurs in gigantic unforeseen leaps (such as what MattyJack experienced when he played his games) which the pundits will be trying to understand in order for the people to understand. And, the US is not the USSR circa 1984, even while things are supposedly not that good here now, and the entire thrust of world civilization is heading relentlessly eastward. USSR circa 1984was done. Busted. Broke. Bankrupt. We arent really there....yet....and likely never will be there. I foresee a fairly bright future for the US, as long as we all understand and accept that the future is non-white.
Not accepting this simple premise is what causes the outrageous GOP domination of the prior 30 years and expalins why the whiteyspheric reaction has not been very, uhm, enlightened.
O'Bama is going to get challenged during the next 100 daze from these same forces, but his poker hand looks pretty strong at the moment. Lets see how he plays it. Here, he is making good on a campaign pledge to end the heretofore legal offshore tax evasion by wealthy individuals and multinational American corporations.
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/05/04/obama-takes-aim-at-offshore-tax-havens/?ref=global-home
You wont read about this in the whiteysphere because it goes against the meme that O'Bama is in the pocket of the wealthy multinationals who gave him his campaign treasure chest.
This will be a huge and hugely contentious issue. How and whether O'Bama succeeds will tell me a lot about the man and his presidency.
Congratulations to the Celts. Glad to see NBA talk will be sticking around at least for another week or two. Both of our teams are playing tonite. HOU vs LAL and BOS vs. ORL.
I wet out on the limb of predicting HOU in six tough defensive minded games. If LALA and Kobe get out and run wild, of course, the Lakers will dominate. HOU must force their will upon LAL in order to have a chance.
I know nothing about ORL. How is that series shaping up, Socrates?

This doesnt seem to be the Celtics year unless, as you suggested, KG can pull off a Willis Reed miracle return from the DL.
In other news, y'know, real life leftists news, today is May Day and huge immigration rallies are predicted for downtown LA.
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-rallies1-2009may01,0,7459575.story
Note, however, that the protestors have already factionalized into four different groups, four diff pparades, even tho all basically hjave the same agenda.
RIOTOUS!
Still, you havent heard a peep about any of this in the whiteysphere, the so-called leftists who aren't, really.
The face of the left was is and will always be the face of the working class.
There is no working class in the whiteysphere. Therefore, no leftism beyond some rhetoric and demosntration attendance, which is entirely symbolic and not directed at any true politcal activist goals. Pyrrhiod.

I have prepared a statement for all of those still at Pffugee Camp a.k.a. "Laura's Place".
Anyone who looks as if they are using my name is an impostor. I will never post there again.
I am the self-declared messiah of meta and I have taken my intoxicating "liquor" known as "meta" off the shelf.
Long live Matty Roth, he died, so that JSR could live.

Jack needs to move on. Every time he has tried to rewrite history concerning Dave's work, it has backfired.
