DailyKos NOT Ranked in Top 100 ONLINE News/Politics Sites

It's hammer time.  (I do have a journalism degree.)  Here's what I've been doing.  I've checked the quantcast traffic rankings (which ranks DailyKos better than Alexa does) and broke down online American based sites that cover political news.  Daily Kos is not even in the top 100. I'll finalize the numbers later today but the Stalinist Kooks are history and persona non grata in politics.  Remember they claim to be the premiere political blog in America yet their traffic rankings aren't in the top 100.

To break down the numbers, I've created 3 categories.  One category is for sites that seemingly lean left.  Another is for more neutral based sites although I think most of them lean right and the latter category is for sites that are right wing based.  The numbers are based on the ONLINE traffic.  For example, I don't care if 2 million people read Newsweek in book stores. Those numbers don't count here.  I only care about the traffic Newsweek receives ONLINE. And since they have stories and comment sections, they are a blog just like Daily Kos and Davefromqueens.com.  The fact that a newspaper in Raleigh has twice as many online viewers than Daily Kos means only one thing.  Hahahahahahahahhahahahah.

For methodology purposes I am not including sites that cover politics outside the country.  That includes sites like jpost.com although they have a large American audience.  I've also omitted some sites which discuss issues which tangentally relate to politics and are political in nature.   For example the American Kennel Club receives triple the online traffic that DailyKos does and dogs can be political.  However, they don't count.  Besides, DailyKos is for the pooties.  Next, I've probably missed a couple of sites that should be included so tell me. Finally, if I included a site I shouldn't have, I shall delete it.  Here goes.

MORE NEUTRAL LEANING SITES  (Why am I including these?  It's simple.  This is online traffic.  The point is to show you that DailyKos isn't even top 100 as for online sources for politics or news.  I don't even include places like facebook, aol message boards, and other forums where politics are discussed all the time.  When all these no name newspapers are getting more ONLINE traffic than Daily Kos, what does that tell you?)

I concur 100%. The stats and rankings are the gateway to everything else and it's something people can absorb in a matter of seconds.

Kos is built on the misperception that his site is the #1 premiere liberal blog and representative of millions of Democratic Party activists. This misperception is the ONLY reason that the few politicians who post there, post there.

The stats change the narrative. Logic wise, they crash the gates. If we can get the narrative out there that DailyKos is not even a top 15 liberal website, not even a top 100 political ranked website, get the names of all the Democrats and liberal bloggers who rightfully despise the place, keep emphasizing that they only have about 10,000 active users for the week, how the site has lost 75% of its viewers, then the few remaining politicians and big names who use the site for self promotion thinking there's a huge audience (Michael Moore, Keith Olbermann) will leave in a heartbeat.

The numbers beg the question, "How has the site declined so much so fast?" And that's when all the stuff on Markos and his Kos Kops fills the void.

But we need the stats which is why I've kept at this angle. People were wondering why I was doing this since it seemed so tedious. The reason is that I find the stats to be 1000 more important than why MajorFlaw is a sicko or Bottles past.
