Ending Welfare For Red States
One of the more unnoticed elements of the federal budget is that red states pay less and get back more from Washington despite their howls of "less government" and "less taxes." As a result, the blue states get screwed. Notwithstanding these disadvantages, blue states are more productive and have a better standard of living as a whole than red states.
Buzzflash posted this good article detailing some of the abuses. The bottom line is more money is going to red states than blue states. I say we play hardball. We'll give money to red states with blue Senators and we'll give money to blue districts within red states but it's time we go through the budget item by item and put the money in the pockets of the people who voted for the Democrats.
