Trying To Live On $500,000 A Year (Part VIII) - The Vacations

Most Americans can't afford to take many vacations.  When they do, they economize.  But the rich pigs of Wall Street, for status purposes, feel that they must take at least two vacations a year.  According to Barbara Corcoran:

most well-to-do families take at least two vacations a year, a winter trip to the sun and a spring trip to the ski slopes. Total minimum cost: $16,000.

So here is my solution.  Take only one vacation a year and spend a quarter of what you usually do.  You can still have a great time.  You can save tons of money.  No more extravagant vacations twice a year.  Learn to live on "only" $500,000 a year.
