Obama Is Toying With The Right Wing Right Now
We real and better democrats know exactly what's going on and Obama is winning this hands down.
The GOP fell into a trap by making a big deal about the condoms. So Obama took that off the table, leaving them bare naked. Now the GOP is whining about the entire stimulus package. So now the GOP looks like obstructionists while Obama is out there expressing the urgency to get things done and get them done know.
Obama understands that the right wingers are going to oppose him on policy no matter what. Obama understands that they are obstructionists. The question is how you play them so that they become a permanent minority. Obama is doing this exactly right. You throw them a fake bone that you can always chew at a later time in order to get the crux of your plan passed. And you do it in such a way to make the GOP look like fools. Bill Clinton brought out the DLC playbook and we got 12 years of Gingrich/Delay with 8 of those 12 years of Bush/Cheney. Obama won't make the same mistakes. This stimulus plan is getting passed and it's getting signed into law sometime in February, 2009. You can take that to the bank.
