It's A Contraceptive Bone To The Republicans
Some people just can't strategize or see the forest from the trees.
I want universal health care coverage. I want health care covered separate from employment. In short, I want some version of Medicare for all. I want HMO Bureaucrats and the insurance industry put out of the health care business. I want Big Pharma regulated more heavily so that people can have access to the medicine they need for the market prices not the monopoly prices. And yes I generally support birth control and other reproductive medicines being covered in such a plan.
Now guess what angry purity trolls? I'm not getting this all in one shot and neither is Obama.
So the Republicans throw a fit and Obama throws them a bone. Brilliant! It now gives Obama the cover to get the important health care reforms in place. The republicans chose to make a stink out of the contraceptives so Obama just neutered them. So if they argue about Obama's general plan, the Republicans will look like idiots because they chose to make a stink about the condoms.
So we get some reforms in place now. Then we come back for universal health care coverage in some form. And guess what? Then you get your condoms. But if you go for your condoms now, you won't get any action. Obama is playing this perfectly.
