This week in Stalinist Daily Kos, 10, 280 screen names either wrote a diary, made a comment or recommended a diary categorizing them as "active users." Some of them were the same person multiple times, others were "trolls." Another 5254 people were identified by Daily Kos’ Jotter as "lurkers" which of course could include many of the same people above at different computers, individuals who merely click for a second and move on, automated programs that generate site clicks, or people like me who monitor the hate and filth that comes from the Daily Kos Stalinists that are an affront to progressives, moderates, and liberals. These Daily Kos Stalinists are bad for the Democratic Party and need to be disavowed and disowned. Thus, adding active users and lurkers we have a grand total of 15534 people for the week. We highlight these real numbers because there is a myth out there that Daily Kos somehow speaks for liberal and progressive bloggers when in fact most liberals and progressive bloggers throughout the Internet realize that Markos described himself perfectly when he said, "Everybody thinks I’m an asshole and they’re right, I am." For those in the media, sitemeter is a farce.

Let’s address the Sitemeter issue. First, any tech geek can track down the IP and location of every person who uses Daily Kos. Play with "recent visitors" on the left and even I can figure it out. (That means you can.) Kos has no respect for your privacy and Peeder explained this at Daily Kos back in 2007. Next, the page views and visits are often the same person clicking and reclicking. They claim that the average visit length is 0:01. Yes you read that right. So where are all these clicks coming from? And why so short? Answer - the site has little influence.

The credibility of Kos and his Stalinist front pagers took another big hit this week with the Caroline Kennedy/Kirsten Gillibrand fiasco. Remember how Kos said he wanted more and better Democrats and how he wanted to replace Blue dogs in blue states? Well, Caroline Kennedy was as progressive as they come and Kirsten Gillibrand is the northern most Blue Dog in Congress. So now we have a Blue Dog from New York who may have to be primaried in 2010 when these resources should be elsewhere. Kos must have enjoyed seeing Al D’Amato on stage because Kos does come from the Reagan Republican, Henry Hyde supporting, unapologetic liberal, unrepentant progressive, New Policy Institute/DLC, who cares about ideology just win an election at all costs wing of the Democratic Party. Oh, and David Paterson is posting at Daily Kos which means he needs to be primaried in 2010 and so long as the GOP does not nominate a nut like Giuliani or Peter King, then Paterson goes down in 2010 unless he unequivocally and publicly denounces the hate and filth that comes from Stalinist Daily Kos. Al Giordano of the Field posted the best diary of the week on the Kennedy-Gillibrand subject. 

Kos, along with Hamsher deserve scorn for their sexist and misogynistic treatment of Kennedy in which they referred to CK as a goat.  They also made or supported snide comments about CK getting her nails again.  We all know Kos was a misogynist from his women studies set comments and Kathy Sierra death threat scumbaggery that he partook in, this is simply another example to cite about Marko Moulitsas, the guy  who openly stated to the NY Times that he had to eat fast and run to the library in high school because he didn't have any friends.  Not much has changed.

The credibility of Kos took another hit when Kos decided to steal a bunch of videos from You Tube and pass them off as "Kos TV." For this, Daily Kos was banned from You Tube.

The crazies clearly have taken over Daily Kos. The top diary on the rec list at one point was a diary recommending that Arlen Specter go to jail for questions he asked of Eric Holder. Granted many at the site denounced this buffoonery but the majority supported it. Daily Kos has clearly entered Ann Coulter territory.

Good diarists and good Democrats are being driven from the site slowly on a day to day basis. The biggest casualty is Lava20 who provides the best diaries on credit card issues. She’s also one of the 20 best diarists there. But the assholes in Cheers and Jeers (And Bill in Portland Maine came to the defense of the assholes once again showing that Bill does support these Kos Kops despite claiming he has nothing to do with it.) mistreated her for no reason and this latest straw has moved her foot one step closer out the door. So according to Daily Kos, a solid, educated Democrat who writes on issues from the mainstream is a troll but a guy who harasses thousands of Democrats at Daily Kos and lost his license to practice being a chiropractor in Colorado for raping patients is a real and better Democrat. Go figure.

Dana Houle, perhaps the most hated blogger at DailyKos, once again trolled a Sirota diary by immediately coming in and saying "You give new meaning to the term tip jar." Is Houle some kind of code word for douchebag or pompous jerk?

Rounding out our mistreated women's edition, over at the Kos owned Mother Talkers, Mrs. Kos can’t figure out why Markos has no feelings, why Markos can’t love, and why Markos is an asshole. Well actually she can but doesn’t want to. This is what you get when you have shallow values and low self esteem, marry around the age of 21 because the guy comes from a rich family, argue and fight all the time, have 2 kids to try and save the marriage, watch your unloving husband abuse concierges at San Diego hotels for no reason, lie in bed each night with a monster "for the children," and go to bed each night knowing your life is miserable despite being financially secure. Her solution? If she just goes to pilates’ classes more often, loses 20-30 pounds mostly in the thighs and butts, then maybe Markos will love her. So Orange County, I almost feel sorry for her, almost.
