Chuck Schumer Was Behind Caroline Kennedy Derailment
Senator Chuck Schumer is a power hungry egomaniac. He's right on most issues but he's still a power hungry egomaniac who would sell any member of his family if the price was right.
From the beginning Schumer wanted a puppet as his junior Senator, someone beholden to him. That person would not be Caroline Kennedy, could not be Caroline Kennedy and never would be Caroline Kennedy.
Schumer is also the one Senator closest to the Townhouse, the group of gatekeeping faux-liberal bloggers of Markos Moulitsas, Jerome Armstrong, Jane Hamsher and Matt Stoller. These four Stalinists want to try and control what millions of Democratic netroot activists are allowed to say, who can and who can't participate in the political process, etc... Schumer communicates with members of this group. They raise money for Schumer's candidates.
If you want to know why it was odd that some members of this group wrote tens of thousands of words bashing the candidacy of Caroline Kennedy (All before her TV gaffes) considering that Caroline Kennedy is clearly a progressive who is close to Obama and served Obama well during the campaign, all roads point to Chuck Schumer.
Who gave the orders to do these smears and hit pieces which were well coordinated and well orchestrated? Could it be the same Chuck Schumer who pals around with Stalinist Townhouse members and uses them as a conduit to raise money? You better believe it. Totally disgusting. Caroline Kennedy certainly flopped in her public appearances but this stuff about withdrawing voluntarily is not credible. If she was going to be appointed, she wouldn't have withdrawn unless she just got completely pissed off with how other so called Democrats were treating her and she simply decided that she didn't need the headache. So for all those so called progressives who unfairly attacked Kennedy? You reap what you sow.
