NFL Playoff Predictions For This Week

In the NFC the Eagles are playing great ball with Westbrook and Mcnabb.  Their defense is awesome.  The Giants matchup well with them.  When they played earlier, Jacobs wasn't 100%.  The Giants are rested. The Eagles can be hit or miss.  They demolished the Cowboys but tied the Bengals.  I'll take the Giants in a blowout 34-17. Homefield and the bye week will matter.

The worst team left in the playoffs is Arizona.  They got their home win over Atlanta and are satisfied.  Carolina is well coached and can run the ball. Arizona will turn the ball over at least 3 times.  Carolina is rested.  Arizona is traveling cross country.  Off hand the record of teams traveling west to east for more than 3 hours is something like 2-17 this year.  Carolina in a blowout 38-10.

In the AFC the Titans and Ravens have excellent defenses and questionable offenses.  Jeff Fisher should have been coach of the year.  Homefield matters here.  Plus Flacco can't carry the team.  Tennessee makes few mistakes and wins 23-13.

In the beginning of the year I picked the Chargers to go to the SuperBowl.  They still can.  Pittsburgh also has a great defense, really great but their offense is below average.  San Diego has the better punting game and kick return game and these hidden yards will be the difference in the game.  Chargers 20    Steelers 17

EDITORS NOTE -- Wow I did predict Baltimore would score 13 points and the Carolina/Zona game would be a blowout.  Problem is I couldn't be more wrong about the final outcomes.
