One of my favorite stories of all time is a guy I knew who was literally worth about 50 million dollars. He drove a car worth hardly anything, dressed like crap. You'd never know he was extremely wealthy unless you knew. He goes into a bank, asks fo a small loan. VP gives him a hard time, starts mocking and insult him. My guy asks for an apology. The VP gets uppity, says he won't apologize to someone like you, blah blah blah. My guy says, "Either apologize or I come back tomorrow at 9:01, own 51% of the bank and fire you." The bank guy thinks he's crazy, he goes to the pres, tells the story, pres asks what's his name, the VP says the name, the pres looks at him deadpan and says, "You better apologize." (Which he did)
Best friend from college was like this as well, pretended to be poor, was very wealthy. I always liked people like this. Heck If I went to the fanciest restaurant in New York and could sit anywhere I wanted, I'd probably spend about 10 minutes in the crowded dining hall, internally laugh at the people and trophies knowing how empty their lives are despite having gazillions, and then go hang with the people in the back.
