Just some general sports talk.
NFL - I like the Giants to win it all but we'll focus on who makes the playoffs. In the NFC Giants are in, Carolina is in, I like Minnesota to get in either by a win or a Chicago loss in Houston. Arizona is in, Atlanta is in. The 6th spot is Dallas' to win but I think Philly beats them and Tampa Bay sneaks in with a win over a horrible Oakland team.
In the AFC, Titans and Steelers are in. I like Miami and New England to both get in as I think Jacksonville beats Baltimore. San Diego will beat Denver and be a dangerous team. Indy is already in as the wildcard.
MLB - The Yankees made 3 outstanding signings talent wise. Since money is no object, simply sign Ben Sheets for 2 years 20 mill and the rotation is set with Joba possibly going back to the bullpen. The Mets did well for their bullpen with K-Rod and Putz.
NHL - Well the Islanders just suck. They need two years with the first overall pick, maybe 3. Pittsburgh and Boston will rule the East with Detroit and San Jose awesome out West.
NBA - Knicks are improved but best to be in the lottery in 2009. Wish they could have moved up from 6 to 3 to draft Mayo. There's a nucleus with Duhon, Robinson, Lee, and Chandler. hopefully Gallinari is legit. Add 1 more lottery pick from 2009, then sign James and a big like Bosh or Stoudemire after 2010 and the nucleus is in place. I'd like to see them dispose of Jeffries contract. A trading partner like Atlanta makes sense. Get rid of the 3rd year for Claxton's 2 years, gives Atlanta an extra body and big off the bench.
BTW Boston will play the Lakers again in the finals and win in 6. Cleveland is much improved as is Orlando. They'll meet in the East Semis. Out west Portland is on the rise but still a year away. They make it to the conference finals where the Lakers take them out.
College Football - Oklahoma/Florida should be very high scoring but I like Oklahoma, similar to Texas/USC game a few years back. I think Utah upsets Alabama. USC steamrolls Penn State, something like 27-10.
