Apparently "God" has changed his mind because Rick Warren has scrubbed his website so that his most offensive and bigoted language regarding gays "disappears."  Warren is a snake oil salesman, a fraud, a bigot, and I disagree with Obama's choice here.  However you attack Warren intelligently and you'll get somewhere.

Personally I oppose gay marriage because of legal complications, historical significance, branding, best interest of the child issues, etc.... but DO support civil unions with almost all the benefits of a marriage, equal protection laws being extended for GLBTs in the workplace, health care, education, etc... and stronger laws punishing homophobes who act out on their bigotry.  Yet despite my agreement with the gay rights movement on 97% of the issues, they'll probably call me a bigot for opposing gay marriage.  And that's why their attacks on Warren aren't working.  Do it intelligently.
