Stalinist Kos Still Can't Recognize How MajorFlaw Destroyed His Site
I'm just laughing. Markos Moulitsas doesn't know when to put the shovel down. Most Democrats, from former Dean staffers to DNC staffers to thousands in the blogosphere, realize that Markos Moulitsas is a piece of garbage who does not speak for Democrats, the netroots, or any faction of the Democratic Party other than the screeching and banging keyboarders who pound out epithets everytime Democrats don't do exactly as they demand.
It has been asserted for many years that Markos Moulitsas is a gatekeeper, that his site is a paper tiger with fewer than 11,000 active users per week, that Kos enjoys bullying (See his quote I linked to yesterday in the NY times where he admits he had no friends in high school and would run to the library to read) because he was bullied as a kid and now wants to get back at the world he hates, and that there was an organized effort by a bunch of turnoff trolls at Daily Kos to systematically drive solid Democrats away from the site.
And lo and behold, I found the site breaking this story. Now if Markos had a brain, he would have banned MajorFlaw, bottles, mbnyc, trashablanca, dadanation, tecampbell, taylormattd, sofia, and als10 immediately, let things die down, and then all of them would reincarnate themselves with other nics without most of us figuring it out for a while. The canard of "what people do at other sites is not our business" doesn't fly considering that while ugog typed at ugog, what was typed at ugog acknowledged what they did at Daily Kos. That would be like a guy in Nebraska typing, "I shot the clerk in New York" and the prosecutor in New York saying that he is not going to use that as evidence in the trial in New York because we don't use evidence typed in another state.
But Markos decided to protect his Kostapo because they do his dirty work of gatekeeping for him and they drive solid Democrats away from the site in droves. Markos weekly average rankings for this week was below 9,000 and you have to consider that this was once a top 500 blog, something Huffington Post is now. (Kos had a basic monopoly and blew it.)
Now User MajorFlaw, a/k/a Michael J. Fingerit, a 48 year old Stalinist from the New York City area, has decided to solicit help from his ugog website for anybody at DailyKos to contact him. His blogroll lists one site, Daily Kos. And now that Fingerit's legacy is a google away for all to know about, Kos decided to send him a comment last week to voice his approval for Fingerit's tactics, tactics that include threats of violence and torture and bullying attacks on 14 year old children. I said it for months that MajorFlaw would do more to destroy Daily Kos than any other user at the site, that he is the ultimate turnoff troll, and I explained why at Daily Kos several months ago. Oh but Markos can never admit that he's wrong. How are those numbers doing?
Let's be clear what my goals here are.
1. To expose the truth about Moulitsas, what he does, and the real number of active users of the site. (Going great)
2. To make Daily Kos irrelevant. (Basically done without my help.)
3. To provide support for Democratic politicians targeted by Moulitsas in future elections by making it clear that Moulitsas does not speak for Democrats or the netroots. (infrastructure and paper trail already in place.)
4. To oppose any Democratic challenger for office who aligns himself or herself with Moulitsas in the future.
5. To primary and vote out of office any Democrat too closely aligned with Daily Kos. (There's only a few and we'll pick and choose wisely.)

Here is a comment I wrote back on May 14, 2008 as to why Major Flaw is a troll. I'll post it in two parts.
Read the rules for why you got the HR. Now I'll try to discuss this civilly. I will not respond back to whatever you spew afterward for I have no interest in playing your games.
In my opinion, you have lost all credibility with me and countless others. There are dozens of people on this site who do a wonderful job "troll hunting." You often volunteer your time to do the same. However, that does not mean that people who troll hunt (stated in the general) can not be trolls or (note the disjunctive) act in a trollish manner.
You obviously think that somehow having a "TU" status gives you some imaginary grand power and you think that "troll hunting" is your fiefdom. And knowing your type (A classic Bill O'Reilly personality, I feel sorry for you.) you think for a moment that you can intimidate and harass people.
But I know the truth about bullies. ALL bullies are cowards. Yes, to use YOUR words they are "chickenshits." And this is a general comment as to how I deal with bully-chickenshits in life. I squash them like cockroaches because they are cockroaches.
Upon reviewing your comments, I do not think you are an intentional troll. I also think you do have many positive comments to contribute and indeed at times you accurately spot trolls. However, your attitude and personality and your admissions that you are "tough on newbies" combined with your indefensible defense of BraveheartDC, could lead a 'reasonably prudent person" to conclude that you are, to use DK terminology, a "troll." When you defend a person who claims that "John MCcain is way to the left of me" and who more than 75% of all comments made at this site were simply in threads meant to bother one of the most well known diarists here (in this case me) simply b/c a RW talk show host urged listeners to do so, (yes that's right MF, a RW talkshow host spent 42 mins on a national radio show attacking me and me only) and then you write that ridiculous defense in which you claim you don't think that person is a troll, then you reveal yourself to be a) disgusting b) disingenuous c)completely lacking in integrity, and d)an encourager of said tactics.
The more prudent course of action would have been to keep your personal dislike of me separate. You could have presented your opinions about me and simultaneously recognized that Braveheart is a sick RW wacko who is acting like Jesse Walters. For all we know, he is. If you really cared about this site, you would have denounced and ditched this stalker long ago. But don't worry about the stalker, since he's never going to be responded to again other than to have his history of stalking and comments mentioned, he'll continue to flip out. He couldn't even last 72 hours.

You see you can disagree with my analysis here and you can even disagree with my views. There is no 100% purity in me and thousands of people have disagreed with a comment of mine here and there. Indeed there are times where I jabber too much (i.e. I do reduce the damages in my bookstore case by jabbering about it because although all elements of FI are meant, my damages are minimal.) There are times I take things too far. There are times I misstate something. Yet the community at large has a way of making us all better and when I get something wrong (and I have before) I correct it and admit my mistake. It's not something I'm afraid to do. Being both a lawyer and having been a teacher for 10 years (and I still teach once a week) along with being a writer (I have a 700 page book I plan to publish in 2009) and many other interests, I remain quite humbled.
Again I will ask for one final time for you to knock off your nonsense. Anytime you defend the indefensible or come into a thread merely to attack me in an unfair way, all I will do is simply show pertinent comments of yours and link them, including but not limited to, your admission that you "are tough on newbies" (translation to some I drive Democrats away from the site thus troll) your laughable comment about reviewing Bravehearts comments (I received multiple private emails about that - trust me you might want to retract that one)and your recs of a blatant troll.
I know you will be bothered by what is written here but it is not written out of malice although you will see it as such. I am trying to be instructive to you and actually trying to help you be a better person here.

I think he underestimated me. Lots of people make that mistake.
The idea that saying hi voila is a fatal mistake is too funny from a guy who outed several people's real life info and investigates screen users at Daily Kos.
Kos owns him. That was Kos' biggest mistake.
