I Apologize (For Now)
Extensive research goes into a story.
Earlier tonight I published a story. My info at the time was rock solid and if I got deceived or mislead by bad information that seemed completely credible at the time I published it, then as a journalist it's my job to correct it as soon as possible.
My story listed dozens of horrible things that MajorFlaw has done with the help of others and the support of Daily Kos. There is no defending these acts.
While I have an opinion as to the veracity of the information I have, I have decided to withdraw the article. Therefore, let it be clear that any person accused of being Major Flaw shall be deemed a mistake on my part and one that I am correcting here very publicly. Any person named as MajorFlaw by me as of this writing should NOT be associated as Major Flaw. Consider this an apology, a retraction, and me going on record that the individual named, possibly mistakenly, should not be associated with the conduct of Major Flaw.
Further keep in mind that should my outside source be satisfied that Major Flaw has been properly identified, then I will tell the story with this identity no matter who this person is. And if Majorflaw deliberately tried to take the persona of someone else, then it will be "groucho" time. Keep in mind that he has 2 known emails in the public domain and that those emails have an IP number.
The person who is Major Flaw, as well as those who are part of his clique of Kostapo, along with the PFFters who are just like him, should be shamed by all of us. You people make me sick that you have managed to move me about two degrees rightward in two months.

I am very sorry if I screwed this up.
Keep in mind that whatever Majorflaw posts at DailyKos should be taken with a grain of salt. Do not be surprised if he is lying 100% about this. Obviously he has a strong motive and the mere fact that he questioned the story forced me to withdraw it. In the role of journalist, you publish something based on your info and the belief it is right. Even if I am 99% sure I am right, if someone raises doubt and even if it is one percent, then I felt that it was the right thing to err on the side of the 1 percent.
The info he posted at UGOG was never meant to be found so I took things there as factual. There were a couple of times he posted things at DK that I believed to be true. I also scanned through minutes of board meetings, checked dates (30 years), checked number of years of being an attorney (22), etc.... I did a ton of homework of this. If I failed, I will do my part to make things right.
