Who could run for Congress against a Republican on Manhattan's liberal east side and lose?  In fact who has a lifelong record of losing as a Democrat and turning Democrats into Republicans?  Who has run Air America into the ground and driven away progressive voices? 

OH - MARK GREEN

1.  Ran for House of Reps from Manhattan East side and LOST to a Republican. (man that's hard)
2.  Chief speechwriter for Gary Hart in 1984.  Hart lost.
3.  Ran for Senate in 1986 against Republican Al D'Amato and LOST. (Hard to do that too.)
4.  Ran for Senate in 1998, came in 3rd in primary.
5.  Ran for Mayor of NYC in 2001 and lost to Bloomberg. (hard to do as well at that point, the election was a shoo-in.
6.  Took over Air America, ran it into the ground, drove out progressive voices.
7.  Ran for State Attorney General in 2006 and lost in the primary to Andrew Cuomo who at the time was a very weak candidate.


If you want to turn people into republicans, introduce them to Mark Green.  Mark Green represents all that is bad about Democrats.  He's a mixture of incompetence, Stalinism, and schmuckery all rolled into one.  Green has the Sarah Palin philosophy of govt -- That is, the philosophy that you should use govt to reward your cronies and misuse govt to punish your perceived enemies.  He's a bully.

Mark Green is your original turnoff troll.  Put him in a city where 4 out of 5 people vote Democratic and he'll lose to a Republican.  He so turned me off that I couldn't vote for him in 2001 and didn't. Obviously I was not alone.

Now Anthony Weiner is made of the same cloth as Mark Green.  These back room Tammany Hall types have had too much influence in the Democratic Party of New York City and that's why we've been stuck with 15 years of Republican mayors.  Oh and what's the MajorFlaw connection?  Stay tuned.
