Tis The Season For The Atheist Signs
I just love this. The Sign reads:
At this season of the Winter Solstice may reason prevail.
There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell. There is only our natural world. Religion is but superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds.
Now I am of the opinion that government should not be endorsing religion and that includes nativity scenes being displayed on government property as well as menorahs and Christmas trees. However, the Supreme Court has ruled (hopefully this gets overturned) that you can have some of these displays on government property so long as there is so called neutrality. So the solution is simple.
The sign provided by the Freedom From Religious Foundation should be displayed everywhere a religious symbol is displayed on public property so as not to discriminate against different viewpoints. (and for those of you who are Buddhist, Shinton, Muslim, etc... get your signs out too) Either all symbols get displayed or none get displayed. I prefer the latter but can live with the former.
