I've been following the abuse and mistreatment of Sirota the last few days because I see the Kostapo doing to him exactly what they did to me.  I find it appalling since while I don't agree with David Sirota on everything, I do know this---  David Sirota has spent years in the trenches fighting for working people, his heart and mind are in the right place, and he's actually helped to get elected more and better Democrats.  

But why would the Kostapo go after him?  Of course it's part of Houle's vindictiveness but it's much more than that and it's the same reason they went after me.  If you are ACTUALLY effective in helping to elect more and better Democrats, if you ACTUALLY go out there and do things and write things that help to elect more and better Democrats, and if you are ACTUALLY somebody whose name or face has appeared on major news outlets (as my ugly face has), then you can't remain at DailyKos.  The list is very long on this front.


People like David Sirota, David Swanson, Greg Palast, and myself (although I'm the lesser of the four at this point) are far superior writers, activists, and communicators than all of the "contributing editors" at DailyKos combined with the possible exception of SusanG, georgia10 and MeteorBlades who generally don't participate in the Kostapo bullshit.  

DailyKos acts with the mentality of a Soviet style bureaucracy much like the Department of Motor Vehicles.  The quickest way to lose your job at the DMV is to do it well by doing it more efficiently and competently than your bosses who will then smite you under the "rules" of the workplace.  Because if you do your job well, your boss is threatened and their power challenged.  So you quickly learn to either dummy it down or you take a hike.

This latest thread is classic Kostapo.

That's my clear message to you - go fuck yourself. I wrote an earlier post on Thanksgiving about the perils of prejudging what people are doing, and prejudging the financial difficulties of what they are doing. If you think it's easy doing what I do, you need to get your head examined.
