Most Americans Still Don't Vote

Here is an excellent chart I saw posted at Fivethirtyeight which came from the census bureau.  In 1984, 23.09% of all eligible adults voted for Ronald Reagan.  Stated otherwise, 77% of Americans never voted for him.  And Barack Obama? Pretty close.

And herein lies the problem.  America's decline started in 1968 with Nixon yet 84% of adults never voted for him.  82% of adults never voted for Bush in 2000.

We need automatic voter registration in this country.  We need to end felony disenfranchisement.  I'd also propose a $500 check for voting so long as we find a way to pay for it.  Those who don't vote (absent a medical reason or real emergency) need too.
